San Juan Island Solar Evaporated Sea Salt

San Juan Island Solar Evaporated Sea Salt

Sunshine and seawater are the only ingredients in this mineral rich, solar evaporated sea salt.

  • Inspired by: A never ending love of the magic of crystallization and the ocean

  • Tastes like: Rich, briny and bright

  • Try it on: All things

For an interesting contrast, compare this sea salt to Maldon Salt or Jacobson Salt, both of which are amazing, beautiful flaky salts. San Juan Island Sea Salt is more granular, because it's very difficult to produce flaky sea salt by solar evaporation. Jacobsen and Maldon produce their salts by boiling seawater, which allows them to control the crystallization but is much more energy intensive than evaporation. San Juan Sea Salt is similar in consistency and minerality to Celtic sea salt.

Details:

  • Ingredients: pure San Juan Island sea salt

  • Net wt. 3.5 oz in a glass jar.

  • Jar dimensions: 2.5"W x 3.25"H

  • Solar evaporated

  • Hand harvested

  • Made with love in Friday Harbor, Washington

Brady Ryan, owner of San Juan Island Sea Salt, was born and raised on San Juan Island, Washington. He uses the power of the sun to naturally produce his salt and, unlike most other salt farmers, lets the seawater completely evaporate — retaining the delicious mineral wealth of the sea.
