Sonia Mendez Garcia was born and raised in California then lived in Houston, Texas, where her family owned a taqueria, during the 80’s. Her parents Ramiro and Blanca were born in Monterrey, Mexico and raised a family of five girls and three boys. The kitchen was always a focal point in their house. Both of her parents cooked, but her mom did most of the cooking, seven days a week. She learned the basics early on, and then in the 90’s she made it her goal to learn the recipes of her family, to continue the legacy of her parents.
